Founded in 2009, Dress for Success Southern Nevada is the Las Vegas-area affiliate of the international non-profit that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women, enabling them to build a career and become self-sufficient.

They provide assistance to job-ready women who are 16 years of age and older by referral only from a range of non-profit, government or community organizations.

In addition to the suiting program, Dress for Success Southern Nevada offers additional support serivces through the Professional Women's Group (PWG), Mentoring the Achieve Personal Success (MAPS), and the Going Places Network (GPN) by Walmart.

Three Square is Southern Nevada's only food bank providing food assistance to the residents of Lincoln, Nye, Esmeralda and Clark Counties.

Three Square's mission is to provide wholesome food to hungry people, while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community. We combine food banking (warehousing canned and boxed goods), food rescue (obtaining surplus or unused meats, bread, dairy and produce from hospitality and grocery outlets), and ready-to-eat meals to be the most complete food solution for Southern Nevada.

2013 - NOVMEBER 28 - DECEMBER 23

This holiday season, endurance athlete Jayson (Jay) Black is taking on an epic task to raise awareness to this chronic problem of hunger in Greater Las Vegas.

On November 28th, Jayson will begin running one marathon a day, for 26 consecutive days - a total of 681.2 miles.

With the help of generous community sponsors Jay is collecting canned and other non-perishable food, as well as monetary donations, for Three Square Food Bank of Southern Nevada. Did you know that $1 equals 3 meals? By donating $1 per marathon you will provide almost 80 meals to those in need this winter.

You can help support this cause by making a monetary donation at our site on CROWDRISE, or donate canned goods at one of the many locations in and around the Las Vegas Valley.

In 2009/10 Rachel was the publicity chair for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of South Valley Nevada, and achieved a few first’s for the community.

Inaugural Paint the Village Purple was held at MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas. This community festival kicked-off the Relay For Life event and was strongly supported by the events industry and gained positive media attention. (January 2010)
